Awakening (1990-1991)I wanted to create a piece that was structured as a crescendo from the beginning to the end. At the same time, I was in the middle of changing my style of writing after having a kind of success with Circius (1988), my first piece for brass band. In that aspect, Awakening pointed out a new direction, an "awakening" in the spiritual meaning of the word. What I achieved was an energetic style based on an extended modality. I kept working like that for several years, and maybe I still do? Even if my style og writing still reaches new stages.
