Many historical events and figures have been depicted in marches throughout history. The Battle of Narvik from 9th April to 9th June 1940 is not directly captured in music,
but many marches are regarded as reflecting these very important conflicts at the beginning of World War II.
This CD is a collection of 17 marches of which all of them have a connection to the City of Narvik and World War II.

The Norwegian Armed Forces' Band North

Established in 1911, it is the oldest professional wind band in northern Norway, based in Harstad about
300 km north of the arctic circle. The wind band consist of 29 professional musicians and give concerts
in a broad variety of genres; from early classical music to pop, jazz and rock. Alexander Hanson is
Music Director and Chief Conductor of the band.
